For flying enthusiasts, Crawford has an airport (99V). As the crow flies, it is nestled between Aspen and Telluride. Airport elevation is 6,470 MSL with 5,000 feet of asphalt paved runway (7/25). Ratings, Flight Reviews, Mountain Pilot Instruction, and Stearman Biplane Rides are all available at the Crawford Airport.
The “Western Slope” is Colorado's best kept secret. Not only is there spectacular scenery to enjoy, but there is much to do including music festivals, wine tastings, workshops, and town celebrations. Golf at the many courses located between Grand Junction and Montrose. Hikers, campers, and skiers can take advantage of the many trails located in the area. Hunting of all types is very popular. Downhill skiing at Aspen, Crested Butte, Telluride, and Powderhorn are all within a two-hour drive.
